Car Mechanic Job Summary
Novara Main Car Dealership is looking for a skilled and reliable Car Mechanic/ Technician to join our busy workshop in Glossop. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys diagnosing and repairing vehicles to a high standard.
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles to ensure they are safe, roadworthy, and performing at their best.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical faults
Diagnose issues using modern diagnostic equipment and tools
Carry out repairs and maintenance on engines, brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, and other vehicle components
Replace or repair faulty or worn parts efficiently and safely
Perform routine servicing, MOT preparation, safety checks, and inspections
Complete all job cards and records accurately and on time
Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations
Maintain a clean and organised working environment
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth workshop operations
Skills & Experience
Previous experience as a Car Mechanic or in a similar automotive role (preferred)
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose faults accurately
Confident using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
Good attention to detail with a well-organised approach to work
Automotive qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds) are advantageous but not essential
A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic
