Hays are proud to be partnering with a local council to recruit two Project Support Officers. These roles will support a busy, fast‑paced team responsible for progressing funding applications and ensuring delivery providers submit accurate, auditable claims in line with council requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of project and programme activities, ensuring funding claims are completed accurately and on time.
- Work with a variety of internal and external departments to build collaborative working relationships and ensure effective project delivery.
- Review and assess funding claims, verifying evidence such as salaries, expenditure and supporting documentation to meet audit requirements.
- Assist new or existing project areas to deliver in line with Operational Guidelines, objectives and performance targets.
- Follow and interpret complex project, funding and financial guidance.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to handle unexpected issues and provide practical solutions.
- Excellent financial acumen, with high attention to numerical and written detail.
- Confident report writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel, including the development of forms to compare forecasts vs actuals, track deliverables, outputs and outcomes.
- Ability to analyse data and create clear, engaging PowerPoint presentations.
- Comfortable managing challenging conversations, situations, or stakeholders where required.
- Experience improving processes or ways of working within a project or operational setting.
