Hays are working in partnership with a local council to recruit a Project Support Officer with a strong background in data research. This role will involve supporting strategic development, data analysis, and grant/external funding planning officers to support the development of the City's Employment and Skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Principal Project Manager - Strategy (Employment & Skills) in developing a collective employment and skills strategy across all council directorates.
  • Coordinate and collate responses from multiple stakeholders, producing a comprehensive strategy and implementation plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners to ensure the strategy is city-wide and inclusive.
  • Take ownership of specific programme work streams and deliver tasks as directed by the programme manager.
  • Network and engage with stakeholders to strengthen collaboration.
  • Identify external funding and grant opportunities to support projects and council services within the employment and skills sector.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to develop proposals and secure funding.
  • Prepare and submit funding applications, ensuring partnerships are in place to maximise success.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
  • Knowledge of funding streams and grant application processes (desirable).
  • Graduate-level education or equivalent experience.
