Summary

Your new company
You'll be joining a well established facilities management provider known for delivering high‑quality engineering and maintenance services across complex commercial environments. The organisation supports a major client site in Southampton and prides itself on exceptional service, strong technical capability, and a collaborative working culture.

Your new role
As an Evening Shift Multi‑Skilled Engineer, you will work as part of a dedicated shift team providing both reactive and planned maintenance across a range of building services. Working Monday-Wednesday (16:30-02:00) and Thursday (15:00-23:00), plus one Saturday per month, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing faults on mechanical, electrical, HVAC and building fabric systems.

Your daily duties will include fault finding, testing and inspection, small installation works, plant maintenance (including pumps, motors, FCUs, AHUs, and pressurisation systems), water hygiene tasks, BMS interrogation, and working closely with site users to ensure the smooth running of operations. You will also support compliance, maintain logbooks, oversee sub‑contractors, respond to emergencies, and ensure all works meet health, safety, and audit requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A recognised trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or building services.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within a commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building services, HVAC systems, ventilation, heating, and mechanical plant.
  • Ability to fault‑find and carry out repairs independently across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience with BMS systems (Trend 963 desirable).
  • High standards of customer service and the ability to work efficiently both alone and as part of a team.
  • Strong awareness of health & safety, including risk assessments, work permits, and safe systems of work.
  • Flexibility to support call‑out, occasional travel to additional sites, and varied maintenance tasks as required.

What you'll get in return
You'll receive a competitive salary with shift allowance, ongoing training and upskilling opportunities, and the chance to work within a supportive engineering team on a long‑term, stable contract. You will benefit from a varied role, excellent facilities, and the opportunity to broaden your skill set across multiple engineering disciplines and specialist systems.
