Summary
The Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is excited to offer an opportunity for an ambitious individual to join our Data and Informatics team as a Senior Information Analyst on a Fixed Term Contract to support the implementation of the new Shared EPR system across the BSW Hospital Group.
We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking individual to work closely with the Data Warehouse and Informatics teams within the Trust to enable the successful delivery of effective reporting.
To be successful in this role you will have a real eye for detail, an analytical mind-set, excellent communication skills and a willingness to adapt your approach with our stakeholders and interpret requirements with the enthusiasm to get the job done to the highest standards.
Experience of working with NHS data is highly desirable but candidates without a previous NHS background will be considered provided they can demonstrate significant technical proficiency in BI and DWH toolsets such as PowerBI and SQL.
As Senior Information Analysts are the key information leads for one of the divisions of the Trust. As such they need to:
• Quickly acquire a broad understanding of the data for their area and within a year become the expert
• Own the clarity between Information and the relevant Division as to agreed reporting and ensure its timely delivery and support ongoing development.
• Take responsibility for delivery, solving problems as they arise and escalating by exception when needed.
• Review information for their area monthly and brief both their own team and the relevant division on anything material or noteworthy.
• Be the main contact with their Division for the above and for any ad-hoc analysis or modelling, with front line responsibility for the information service provided to their Division
The senior analysts together with the Head of Business Intelligence are the core senior management team within Information. They will need to provide group leadership to support the wider team on an ongoing basis:
• Advice and guidance to the rest of the team based on their skills and experience with an expectation that each senior analysts will have a particular area of high level skills/knowledge to share (e.g. analysis, reporting systems, SQL, operational needs etc..)
• Promoting a focus on what the data means and the story rather than just the number and deputise for Head of Business Intelligence, both internally and externally.
“Our STAR values – Service, Teamwork, Ambition and Respect – are a golden thread running through everything we do. These values serve as a guiding principle, driving us towards our vision of delivering great joined up services to our local community. Whether at home, in the community, or within the hospital, our goal is to empower individuals to lead independent and healthier lives.”
• Undertake and manage projects across the full range of data collection, collation, analysis and presentation activities
• To continually look to enhance the format of information provided and seek to provide innovative solutions to help inform decision-making across the Trust.
• Lead on delivery of key projects across the Divisions.
• To provide information to colleagues within the divisional team, and on occasion with external colleagues regarding the interpretation of data and information, the presentation of information and the understanding of statistical and analytical methods.
