Summary
Joiners Required | 6-Month Contract | Barrow-in-Furness
We are recruiting experienced Joiners for an immediate start on a 6-month contract supporting maintenance, refurbishment, and construction activities within the nuclear shipbuilding sector. This role offers 40–70 hours per week, depending on workload.
Role Responsibilities
Construct and assemble containers (2 x 2 ply work)
Carry out joinery tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Confident use of hand tools for cutting, shaping, and finishing
Support general construction activities (basic masonry skills beneficial)
Undertake heavy lifting where required
Maintain high-quality workmanship and effectively solve on-site challenges
Required Skills & Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 in Joinery
Strong woodworking and joinery experience
Safe and confident use of hand tools
Physically capable of heavy lifting
Basic masonry skills advantageous
Excellent attention to detail
Valid Passport or Driving Licence (including provisional)
HMRC 5-year work history
DBS check dated within the last 6 months
Working Hours
Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–4:30pm (OT1 applies after 4:30pm)
Friday: 7:30am–12:30pm (OT1 applies thereafter)
Saturday: First 4 hours OT1, remaining hours OT2
Sunday: OT2
Rates (CIS / Umbrella)
Basic: £20.00 per hour
OT1: £25.00 per hour
OT2: £32.00 per hour
Travel and accommodation are the responsibility of the contractor.
