Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join the Community Safety Team at Chelmsford City Council. As a Corporate Safeguarding Officer- Community Safety, you will be the first point of contact for safeguarding issues for staff within the council.


The successful applicant will respond appropriately to safeguarding reports whilst ensuring the Council complies with its statutory duties. Where required, liaising with partner organisations ensuring information is appropriately shared, and signposting and support is accessed and coordinated.


In addition to the above, the post holder will also assist the Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Safeguarding Leads in their duty to ensure that safeguarding is embedded across the organisation through training and education.


Being part of the Community Safety Team will also require you to provide cover, assistance and resilience to the other Community Safety Officer roles and contribute to the wider work of the council including carrying out project work.


The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills when dealing with staff, partners and members of the public and will be able to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate strong customer service skills.
