We are working in partnership with a well-established nursery to appoint a dedicated and experienced Early Years Room Leader on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident practitioner looking to take the next step in their early years career within a supportive and high-quality setting.

As a Room Leader, you will take responsibility for leading a designated room, ensuring high standards of care, learning, and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You will support, mentor, and guide staff within your room, while creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a designated room, ensuring outstanding standards of childcare and education for children aged 0–5 years
• Plan, deliver, and oversee engaging and developmentally appropriate activities in line with the EYFS
• Support, mentor, and inspire team members within the room
• Monitor children’s progress and maintain accurate observations, assessments, and records
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
• Promote positive behaviour management strategies
• Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
• Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Have

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare, or a related field (Level 4+ desirable)
• Previous experience working in a nursery setting, ideally in a senior practitioner or room leader role
• A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• A proactive, positive, and team-focused approach
• Paediatric First Aid (desirable but not essential)
• GCSEs (or equivalent) – evidence will be required

Right to Work: All candidates will be required to demonstrate a valid Right to Work in the UK as part of our safeguarding and compliance checks.
DBS: All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to starting work, if not already in possession of one registered on the Update Service. The cost of a DBS will be covered by the applicant.
