Salary: Grade I Point 31-35 £41,771- £46,142 per annum pro-rata (Actual £35,768 - £39,511 per annum)
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week (term time + 5 days)
8:30 4:30 Mon Thurs; 8:30 4:00 Fri
Contract Type: Permanent

The Role: Due to the retirement of our long-standing postholder, Gilnow Primary School is seeking an outstanding School Business Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and play a key role in the strategic leadership of our school.
Key responsibilities will include:
- To work with HT, SLT and Governors to ensure that the school meets its educational aims and achieves improved standards of learning and attainment
- To give strategic vision and leadership to all aspects of budget, finance, premises, risk management, health and safety, human resources and support services
- To have an active role in whole school self-evaluation, strategic and annual planning processes
- To lead, operate, maintain and develop the financial procedures and systems of the school ensuring that legal and safety requirements with regard to people and property and function of the school are maintained
- To be responsible for the school site and its buildings, their maintenance, development and efficient use
- To be responsible for keeping abreast of legislation, national guidelines and local arrangements in relation to school finance, personnel, premises, Health and Safety and other related matters; advising the members of the Leadership Team and Governing Body as appropriate
- To generate additional income into school
- To ensure that the school is fully prepared to meet OFSTED and School financial criteria
- To liaise with all relevant external agencies

The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate:
- Experience working in a school business environment or a comparable leadership role.
- Strong financial understanding with experience managing budgets and financial planning.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations, HR practices, and compliance requirements.
- The ability to both lead and work well within teams.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
