Summary

Quantity Surveyor – Civils & Groundworks Subcontractor
Wisbech, Cambridgeshire

£65-£70k salary + company car or equivalent car allowance

I’m currently working with a well-established and rapidly growing civils and groundworks subcontractor based in Wisbech, who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support their expanding workload.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that has built an excellent reputation in the region and continues to win repeat work across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

The Role:
You’ll be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple civils and groundworks projects, working closely with the delivery teams and directors.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Full commercial management of projects from tender through to final account


  • Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts


  • Cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting


  • Managing subcontractor packages and accounts


  • Assessing variations, change control, and cost recovery


  • Supporting procurement and tendering where required


  • Working closely with site and operational teams to maximise margins


    What They’re Looking For:

    • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils and/or groundworks is essential


    • Strong understanding of subcontractor environments


    • Good commercial awareness and contractual knowledge


    • Confident communicator, able to work closely with both site and senior management


    • Well organised, proactive, and commercially minded
