Job Title: Quality Engineer

Department: Quality

Job Purpose: The role is integral to ensuring continuous quality improvement across the business and to drive a quality focussed culture to support ambitious growth whilst achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage a range of complex dependencies and issues, and present recommendations and options to meet business needs. You will have excellent communication and influencing skills, with a demonstrable ability improve quality standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Operational

To support continuous improvement of the company’s Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
Oversee quality assurance across the business including our deposition processes in Class 100 / Class 1000 cleanroom environments.
Partake in update and maintenance of the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Monitor, interpret and react to SPC data.
Conduct routine inspections and testing of products and components.
Document and report quality issues, test results, and non-conformances.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes using recognised problem-solving tools.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and engineering.
Maintain accurate records.
Customer and Supplier liaison.
General

Communication and co-operation across all aspects of the business are critical to this role.
Create a positive working environment by promoting the core values.

Ensure compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and all other governing/legal requirements.
Ensure individual continuous development to improve personal and organisational performance.
To undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of the post, as required.
Knowledge and Skills

HNC or higher qualification in quality assurance or an engineering related subject.
A working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and automotive core tools as detailed in IATF 16949.
Familiarity with ISO standards, Six Sigma and similar methodologies.
Knowledge of vacuum deposition techniques and cleanroom operations.
Familiarity with metrology and non-contact measuring tools.
Strong knowledge of SPC and quality control tools.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
The reading of engineering drawings and specifications.
Qualified internal auditor.
Able to travel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
