Summary

This is an exciting time to join the DDaT team at DCMS, as we strive to collaborate across the department to deliver user-centred services that drive smarter working, innovation and efficiency. Our mission centres on four priorities: building a secure, resilient, and modern technology foundation; developing digital and data capability across DCMS; driving efficiency and value through modern corporate services; and fostering a high-performing, empowered workforce.

Our plans include critical investment in our corporate systems, ensuring they are fit for purpose and reducing the manual input required. Equally, there is ongoing development of the way the department delivers its policy outcomes via digital and data services, using AI where needed to maximise the value these can bring to users in the department or throughout the society we serve.

Aligned with the productive and agile state agenda, we embed DDaT expertise across departmental teams to enable early engagement with policy development, to support cost-effective delivery.

As a Delivery Manager, you will:

  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams to develop and improve services and products. You’ll collaborate on plans and progress, using a thorough understanding of the variety of disciplines involved in digital delivery, including engineering, service design, product management, and user research. You’ll apply the most appropriate Agile and Lean tools and techniques, and foster an inclusive environment for innovation and challenge.
  • Drive delivery momentum, solve issues and unblock problems. You’ll set a sustainable pace whilst ensuring teams are working towards delivery commitments and specific outcomes. You’ll provide useful metrics to track delivery. You’ll encourage a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively between complex stakeholder groups. You’ll bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll use your awareness of context to balance and align needs and priorities, and deal with conflicting views.
