Summary
Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for LX No. 3 to work on the West End musical "PADDINGTON" at the Savoy Theatre. We are seeking applications from individuals from all backgrounds, with complementary experience and skills, for the position of LX No. 3.
As LX No.3, you'll report to the Head of Lighting & Video. Your focus will be on supporting the setup, operation, maintenance, and smooth running of all lighting and video equipment during rehearsals and performances.
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
Assist the department to ensure the smooth running of all rehearsals and performances.
Assist the department on any day-to-day changes that might impact the running of the Production.
Help train new team members, deps, and local crew as required.
Carry out daily lighting & video setup and rig checks to ensure all equipment is show ready.
Ensure all lighting and video equipment is cleaned, maintained, and in full working order for each performance.
Learn and operate all tracks within the department, including operating the lighting desk, Stage LX track and a followspot track.
Attend technical, dress and understudy rehearsals as required.
Carry out regular maintenance on both lighting and video systems.
Respond effectively to technical issues that may arise during performances.
Work in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy and maintain a good working knowledge of all relevant health and safety legislation and good working practices.
Skills and experience:
Proven ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
Effective team player with strong collaboration and communication skills.
Motivated to learn new skills and equipment and committed to upholding the quality of a new production.
Demonstrates discretion and professionalism when working closely with others.
Well-organised and detail-oriented in all aspects of work.
Knowledge and experience with ETC Eos, Lightstrike, Disguise.
Maintaining moving lights, projectors, and video walls.
Maintaining and repairing set electrics.
Working at height.
