Summary
We’re looking for a Senior Digital UX Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll lead and deliver digital design work across retail and financial services clients, including new websites, complex decision-based journeys and ongoing optimisation initiatives. You’ll play a key role in shaping creative responses to briefs, designing high-quality websites and digital journeys, and delivering conversion-focused (CRO) solutions that balance strong visual craft with usability, performance and commercial impact.
You’ll take ownership of design work end-to-end, from early UX thinking and problem definition through to high-fidelity design and delivery. Working alongside other senior designers, you’ll collaborate closely with development and QA teams and report into the Creative Director. You’ll have a strong influence on the overall creative and UX output of the agency, and you’ll be confident making design decisions, articulating rationale and contributing meaningfully to internal and client-facing discussions.
A core part of the role is leading UX problem-solving. You’ll be expected to understand user needs and business challenges, identify issues within complex journeys or flows, and translate those insights into clear, usable and creative design solutions. This includes working extensively on forms, multi-step journeys and conversion-critical experiences, as well as contributing to CRO-led optimisation work through iteration, testing and refinement. You’ll also lead and contribute to research activities such as competitor analysis, journey reviews and insight gathering, using these insights to inform design direction and improve outcomes.
You’ll design clean, intuitive user interfaces with a strong eye for layout, typography and visual hierarchy, ensuring all work is mobile-first, responsive and accessible. You’ll be responsible for delivering pixel-perfect, production-ready assets on time and to brief, and for maintaining high-quality artwork across ongoing, high-volume consumer-facing products, promotions and optimisation activity. You’ll also contribute to the evolution of design systems and component libraries to support consistency and scalability across projects.
From a tooling perspective, you’ll work primarily in Figma and should be highly proficient in using components, variants, auto layout, shared libraries, prototyping and collaborative workflows. You’ll also have a good working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator for light image editing, asset preparation and production-ready outputs. Close collaboration with developers is essential, ensuring designs are feasible, accessible and ready for build.
You’ll regularly prepare and deliver presentation materials for external use, including client concepts and case studies, and may lead or support client presentations where appropriate. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also provide guidance and informal mentoring to more junior designers, helping raise design quality and share best practice across the studio.
This role is suited to an experienced designer with around five or more years’ experience in a digital design role, either agency-side or in-house. You should have a strong portfolio that demonstrates UX-led digital work, complex journey design and clear evidence of how your design solutions have delivered results. Strong communication skills, a high level of autonomy, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure are essential, along with a genuine passion for design and continuous improvement.
Oxara London is a remote-first agency with optional hybrid working in London. We offer a supportive, collaborative environment, the opportunity to work on meaningful, performance-driven digital projects, and exposure to the full digital delivery lifecycle from concept through to optimisation, with plenty of room to grow and progress.
