Summary

Job title:Female Personal Assistant - Join a Supportive, Friendly Home Environment!

Reporting to: The Employer

Location: Claregate, Wolverhampton WV6

Hours of work: 28 hours per week – Tuesday to Friday 08:30am – 15:30pm each day

Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour

About the employer:

Our client is 22 years old, autistic and lives in Wolverhampton. She has low language and cognitive skills but is physically fit and generally content.

Our client is looking for a Personal Assistant who lives locally and has experience with managing and organising children and is aware of the challenges that autistic people can face.

Main duties:

Social duties

- Encourage the client to socialise with family and friends

- Assist with managing type 1 diabetes

- Attend medical appointments with the family

- Go shopping and travel on buses, trains and trams

- Attend social events such as the cinema

- Accompany our client to the swimming baths

Personal care: Support with bathing/showering, teeth cleaning, dressing.

Domestic duties: Support with household tasks such as preparing meals for the client. Helping the client to use the dishwasher and washing machine with the client. These duties may vary from day to day

Skills, qualifications, and experience

Essential:

- Full UK Driving Licence
- Car and appropriate insurance
- Previous experience of working with individuals with autism
- Confidentiality
- Good at building relationships

Preferred:

- Good communicator
- A good listener
- Ability to support people with complex care needs.
