Summary

Clinical Practice Deliver specialist, evidence-based nursing care in haematology in line with the NMC Code. Provide expert advice and support to patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team. Manage a defined caseload, ensuring accurate assessment, care planning, and documentation. Competently perform advanced clinical skills including central line care, blood product administration, venepuncture, infusion therapies, chemotherapy, and stem cell transfusions. Act as a clinical resource, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication. Implement clinical guidelines, participate in audit, and support quality improvement initiatives. Education and Research Mentor and supervise junior staff and students, supporting competency development. Contribute to education within the Care Group. Promote evidence-based practice and participate in research as appropriate. Management and Leadership Act as shift leader, coordinating workload and patient flow. Support ward management with staffing, resource use, risk management, and service development. Liaise with medical staff and bed management to ensure effective admissions and discharges. Manage incidents, complaints, and crisis situations professionally. Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and infection control. Professional Development Maintain clinical competence, mandatory training, and NMC requirements. Actively engage in appraisal, supervision, and ongoing professional development. Support performance development of junior staff. Governance Uphold Trust policies, confidentiality, health and safety, and infection control standards.
