Summary

The role is extremely variable and good time management and organisation skills are essential. To prepare, implement, test, and evaluate the Emergency plans for East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust. To assess the risks associated with public events occurring within or impacting upon the Trust area and to contribute to the licensing arrangements where appropriate. Evaluate and plan for any special medical arrangements required, including liaison with the Safety Advisory Groups. Ensuring that the Trust Major Incident Plan and other key plans are compatible with other health and Emergency service plans and meets the statutory requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. To plan and co-ordinate multi-agency exercises to enable the Trust to test its emergency plans and associated procedures. Ensure as far as is reasonably practical the competence of the Trust staff and managers to deal effectively with emergency incidents. Support the Trust preparedness for responding to, and mitigating the effects of and Chemical, Biological, Radiological or Nuclear (CBRN) or Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) incident. Ensure the Trusts capacity and preparedness to deal with High Consequence Infectious Disease and Pandemics. In liaison with the Trust Business Continuity Manager, contribute to the Trust Business Continuity delivery within divisions. Produce, update, and liaise with partner agencies on site-specific plans in accordance with national and statutory requirements. Represent the Trust at multi-agency EPRR meetings as required. Prepare and propose updates to any Trust plan to ensure the Trust remains compliant with relevant legislation and EPRR best practice. Participate in the EPRR NILO on-call rota to provide specialist support and advice to incident commanders in the event of major or specialist incidents. Produce and update site specific plans in line withControl of Industrial Major Accident Hazards (CIMAH) and Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) regulations. Liaise with divisional operational management teams on all EPRR related matters.
