Summary
We are looking for a Pastoral Support Assistant to support the behaviour of a small group of children aged between 9-12 during their learning in KS2 and KS3.
You must already have an Enhanced DBS to apply for this role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Support pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs to help them succeed in school
Work one-to-one and in small groups with pupils who require additional support
Promote positive behaviour and help pupils develop self-regulation and coping strategies
Monitor pupils’ behaviour and well-being throughout the school day
Support pupils during unstructured times such as break, lunch and transitions between lessons
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and act as a consistent point of contact
Liaise with teachers, SEND staff and senior leaders to support behaviour plans
Record and report concerns, incidents and progress in line with school procedures
Communicate appropriately with parents and carers when required
Support safeguarding procedures and report any concerns in line with school policy
Encourage attendance, punctuality and engagement with learning
Act as a positive role model and uphold the school’s values and behaviour expectations
