Summary

We are looking to appoint an Intervention Support Assistant specialising in English to join our friendly team. This is a term time only role. We are looking for someone predominantly supporting classroom teachers and delivering some interventions and other aspects of teaching and learning.
Witton Middle school is based in Droitwich, catering for children in Years 5, 6 and 7, we provide an effective bridge between First School and High School. Our curriculum is designed to create confident, curious, and collaborative individuals who will make a difference in the world. Our children receive expert teaching and benefit from excellent specialist facilities which foster increasing levels of independence in learning.

The ideal candidate will possess GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or above. You will need to have recent experience of working with children in a similar environment, delivering reading and/or literacy interventions and support. You will need experience of delivery of intervention to support children in early stages of reading, irrespective of chronological age.
This role links to the achievement and progress of disadvantaged pupils at both Key Stage 2 & 3; high quality teaching of English, and promoting and delivering whole school programmes for reading, writing, punctuation, spelling and grammar. The primary focus of the role will be planning, delivering and monitoring the impact of English interventions.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Term Time only (8.30am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday)
Grade: Scale 3 (5-6) - £24,790 p.a. - £25,183 p.a. Pro-Rata salary £20,792 - £21,122 p.a.
