Join us at Oak Springs, our luxury purpose-built residential care home in Wavertree. Here at Oak Springs, we provide the highest standard of residential, respite and dementia care for older people.
Our beautiful 74-bedded home is spread across 3 floors, and our lively team supports the vibrant community of residents to enjoy everything from music rooms and a beauty salon to peaceful lounge and courtyard areas. We embrace sensory enlightenment, encourage individuality, and focus on enhancing quality of life, rather than just preserving it.
As a Maintenance Operative at our home, your role would involve:
Maintaining the building and equipment
Carry out routine checks weekly, monthly, annually on systems in the home and ensuring that external checks are carried out within the agreed time frame.
Monitor and respond to the fire alarm call, boilers and lifts.
Make effective and efficient use of resources in any maintenance or repair.
Maintain the building, grounds and equipment to ensure the safety of residents, staff and visitors to the House including decoration and repair, minor plumbing works and maintaining the garden areas.
Maintain good communication and relationships with other teams and colleagues at the House.
Maintain awareness of the Home's policies and procedures especially the Fire Policy.
Participate in Training and Development as an individual and as part of the team.
Get involved in the induction of new staff by training them on the building layout and fire policies and procedures.
Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
Control and ordering of stock and acceptance and checking of deliveries.
Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.
Observe and maintain high levels of communication within the teams of staff, individual colleagues and residents.
Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
To carry out any additional duties as requested.
The post-holder will assume responsibility for assisting in providing a safe, secure and attractive environment for our residents by carrying out routine, planned and responsive maintenance for the Home as required.
You will be expected to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all internal areas of the Home, as well as tending to the gardens, car park and all other external spaces. There will also be a requirement to carry out regular health and safety checks and document these checks accurately and consistently.
Applicants will need to demonstrate significant experience of property maintenance and ideally also be able to undertake very basic plumbing repairs as required. The ability to show initiative and excellent troubleshooting skills are key requirements of this role, as there will at times be a need to provide and/or source solutions to maintenance issues arising at short notice.
Furthermore, candidates should be reliable, dedicated individuals of a caring and patient disposition and with excellent attention to detail.
