Do you thrive on turning learning strategy into outstanding learning experiences? We’re looking for a Learning Design & Delivery Manager to lead the design and delivery of high-quality, digital-first learning that builds capability, drives performance and supports the Society’s future growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines learning expertise, digital innovation and operational excellence - ensuring learning is engaging, accessible and scalable across the organisation.

Who Are We?

Not just another building society. Not just another job.

We're the fourth biggest building society in the UK and what makes us different is that we're a mutual organisation. We don't have shareholders; we're owned by our members.

Our colleagues say Skipton's a great place to work, and you could be one of them, bringing new ideas on how we can keep customers at the heart of what we do.

Whatever your background, and whatever your goals, we'll help you take the next step towards a better future.

The Team You’ll Join

You’ll join our People Department, reporting into the Head of Colleague & Organisational Development, and working closely with L&D Business Partners, Organisational Development, Talent and Product colleagues.

While Business Partners focus on understanding business need, this role is responsible for bringing learning to life - designing, delivering and continuously improving learning solutions that make a real difference for colleagues and leaders.

What Will You Be Doing?

As Learning Design & Delivery Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end design and delivery of digital and blended learning solutions that support organisational capability and regulatory requirements.

You’ll lead a team of learning specialists, set digital learning standards, and ensure our learning technology ecosystem is used effectively to enable engaging and impactful learning at scale.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead and develop the Learning Design & Delivery team, ensuring high-quality, innovative digital and blended learning solutions are delivered consistently.
  • Oversee the design, development and delivery of learning programmes that are engaging, accessible and aligned to adult learning principles.
  • Own and continuously improve the digital learning ecosystem, ensuring platforms and tools effectively support learning needs.
  • Develop and embed digital learning standards, ensuring consistency, accessibility and quality across all learning solutions.
  • Partner with L&D Business Partners and stakeholders to translate learning needs into scalable, fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Ensure learning solutions align with organisational priorities, regulatory requirements and digital transformation goals.
  • Measure the effectiveness of learning solutions using data and insight, driving continuous improvement and value.
  • Manage external learning providers, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective services that complement internal capability.

What Do We Need From You?

  • Experience of operating in a similar role, with a proven track record of managing and leading high performing teams.
  • Strong experience leading the design and delivery of digital and blended learning in a complex organisation.
  • Deep understanding of learning design, facilitation and digital learning methodologies.
  • Experience managing learning technologies and platforms within an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to set standards and governance while enabling creativity and innovation.
  • Confident stakeholder management skills, translating requirements into effective learning solutions.
  • A data-informed mindset, using insight to improve learning impact and experience.

What’s In It For You?

Skipton values work/life balance and we are proud to support hybrid and flexible working, where possible. We have a newly refurbished head office which offers a vibrant and collaborative working space.

We have a range of other benefits available to you including:

  • Annual discretionary bonus scheme
  • 25 days standard annual leave + bank holidays + rising 1 day per year of service to a maximum of 30 days
  • Holiday trading scheme allowing the ability to buy and sell additional annual leave days
  • Matching employer pension contribution (up to 10% per annum)
  • Colleague mortgage (conditions apply)
  • Salary sacrifice scheme for hybrid & electric car
  • A commitment to training and development
  • Private medical insurance for all our colleagues
  • 3 paid volunteering days per annum
  • Diverse and inclusive colleague networks available for you to join including our Carers and Pride Alliance groups
  • We care about your health and wellbeing – we provide a range of benefits that support this including cycle to work initiative and discounted gym membership
