Summary
Provide individual assessment and therapeutic intervention for cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Assist in psychological assessment, utilising psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, structured observations including home and discreet school observations. Carry out semi-structured interviews as part of the history taking procedure with the client, family members and other agencies involved with the client. To communicate complex and sensitive information empathically, using language which is appropriate to the client group e.g. under 16, compared to parents Be able to work effectively in an environment that may be highly emotive and hostile, for example, bereavement or aggressive clients. Deal appropriately in situations requiring sensitivity and empathy. To assist in projects which evaluate the current service which contributes to service development. As part of the research project, undertake literature searches, questionnaire development, data collection, statistical analysis and the production of reports Comply with and carry out safe practice in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, appropriate Codes of Conduct, the Mental Health Act (1983) and other relevant national and local guidance
