The school provides a highly nurturing environment for children with:Pupil Needs You Will Support
- Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Complex medical and physical needs
- Wheelchair users requiring mobility assistance
- Non‑verbal pupils with communication difficulties
- Sensory processing needs
Pupils are aged 4-19 and follow personalised, sensory‑based learning programmes designed to meet their individual needs.Your RoleAs a Teaching Assistant in this specialist environment, you will be an essential part of a multi‑disciplinary team delivering high‑quality care, learning and support.Day‑to‑Day DutiesLearning & Classroom Support
- Supporting pupils with sensory‑based and multi‑sensory curriculum activities
- Using communication aids (e.g. switches, symbols, visual supports, Makaton)
- Adapting tasks to ensure pupils can engage at their own developmental level
- Assisting the class teacher with structured learning, play and life‑skills work
Care & Medical Support (training provided)
- Supporting with hoisting, mobility, and positioning
- Assisting with feeding, PEG feeding (if applicable), and hydration routines
- Providing personal care, including toileting and hygiene needs
- Following individual care plans and working alongside therapists and nurses
Behaviour & Emotional Support
- Creating a calm, nurturing and consistent environment
- Helping pupils regulate emotions through sensory strategies and routines
- Using positive behaviour support approaches
Sensory, Physical & Enrichment Activities
- Taking part in hydrotherapy, rebound therapy or physiotherapy sessions
- Supporting outdoor learning, sensory rooms and creative therapies
- Encouraging social interaction, communication and independence

- Comfortable with personal care and physical support
- Resilient, reliable and able to work well as part of a team
- Open to training such as hoisting, Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, or medical procedures
