Our client has a programme that comprises continuous improvement projects to 11 nominated services. The projects focus on business improvement by mapping the current way of delivering a service and proposing ways in which that could be delivered more effectively or efficiently. These improvements can come from any of the following sources:
- More efficient processes
- Improved tools and technology
- Improvements to the services offered by teams
- Reduced duplication through more efficient structures
The aim is to improve the delivery of services whilst making them more efficient, freeing up staff to focus on other activities. Therefore, benefits from the projects will be the time and/or money saved by improving the way these services are delivered across the organisation. The purpose of the Programme is to identify ways to make efficiencies, resulting in service delivery becoming more efficient and effective and providing more value for money.
Sought:
- Delivery of a full inventory of quantified and assured efficiencies review projects in 25/26.
- Delivery of a quantified forecast of efficiencies operating model review projects in 26/27.
- Initial desk-based review of existing mapping, register and projections of efficiencies, in conjunction with the Programme Manager.
- Facilitating workshop sessions with relevant Project Managers and relevant stakeholders to:
- Verify and improve the information used in calculation of already identified benefits.
- Identify additional or potential financial and non-financial benefits (e.g., increased revenue, reduced costs, improved service quality, increased employee satisfaction).
- Propose Metrics and KPIs (after consultation with relevant stakeholders): Establishing specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and success.
- Create Documentation: Developing key documentation, such as a Benefits Management Strategy, Benefits Map, Benefits Register, and detailed Benefits Profiles for each identified efficiency.
- Plan for Benefits Realisation: Creating a comprehensive Benefits Realisation Plan that maps out how and when the Benefits will be achieved and who is responsible for their delivery (the "benefit owner").
