Summary

The Best Connection are recruiting Traffic Management Operatives to work on a temporary basis across a range of projects including highways, roadworks, utilities, and construction sites. Operatives will be responsible for the safe setup, maintenance, and removal of traffic management systems in line with industry standards and health & safety regulations.

This role is ideal for reliable, safety-focused individuals who are comfortable working outdoors and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and removal of traffic management layouts (cones, signs, barriers, temporary traffic lights, etc.)

• Ensure traffic management operations comply with relevant legislation

• Work safely on live roads, highways, and construction sites

• Conduct basic site checks and report hazards, defects, or incidents

• Maintain a high standard of safety for road users, pedestrians, and colleagues

• Wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times

Requirements:

• Good understanding of health & safety procedures

• Flexibility (you may be travelling back from various locations)

• Comfortable working in the outdoors/all weather

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

• Reliable transportation to arrive at the premises for 7am

Desirable (but not essential)

• Full UK driving licence

• Previous experience in traffic management or highways work/similar roles

• Additional qualifications (Lantra, 12AB, 12C/D, IPV, or similar)
