The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Service Manager (Children’s Services) to lead and coordinate services for children and young people with learning disabilities. You will ensure services are high-quality, safe, and person-centred, in line with SoLO’s values, policies, and strategic objectives.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will provide strong leadership to staff teams, act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, and oversee service delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage Children’s Services to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality delivery
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for Children’s Services
- Line manage, support, and develop staff, ensuring compliance with DBS and training requirements
- Oversee rotas, staffing cover, referrals, and service user support plans
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, risk management, and regulatory requirements
- Manage service budgets and contribute to reporting and audits
- Build positive relationships with families, professionals, and external partners
- Contribute to service development, performance monitoring, and strategic planning
- Participate in the on-call rota (shared basis)

About You

You will have:

Experience in a similar leadership or coordination role
A strong understanding of the needs of children and young people with learning disabilities
Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, GDPR, and person-centred practice
Strong organisational, communication, and people-management skills
Confidence using IT systems including CRM databases, Excel, and Microsoft Office
A relevant leadership/management qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
