Summary
Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate, patient, and resilient SEN Educational Support Workers to join a specialist school in Totton, supporting children and young people aged 2-19 years with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties. Many pupils also have co‑existing conditions such as Autism, Down Syndrome, sensory needs, physical disabilities, and significant communication challenges.

Key Responsibilities
- Providing personalised support to pupils with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties
- Supporting children with Autism, Down Syndrome, physical disabilities, sensory needs, and non‑verbal communication
- Assisting in the delivery of creative, therapeutic, sensory‑based, and inclusive learning activities
- Promoting safety, emotional wellbeing, and positive engagement throughout the school day
- Supporting pupils with daily routines, emotional regulation, communication, and developing independence
- Using clear, consistent communication to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families

Position: SEN Educational Support Worker

Contract Type: Full‑time, with temp‑to‑perm pathways available
Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
Pay Rate: From £13.96 per hour
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
- Provide professional references covering the past 24 months, ideally involving work with children or vulnerable individuals
- Hold a Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education, health & social care, or have relevant SEN experience
