Summary

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, technically skilled and caring Therapeutic Radiographer to join our well established Radiotherapy team at University Hospital Dorset - Poole Hospital.

Our radiotherapy service has a wide range of different modern, tattooless techniques with a strong commitment to both patient care and staff development, including a well-developed competency and preceptorship program to help new staff integrate into the service.

Our department uses the four tier structure for radiographers and you would be working along side radiographers which are developing to band 8b.

We offer regular opportunities for educational funding (such as MSc modules) as well as possible paid attendance at conferences both nationally and internationally. (such as ESTRO)

The department has a fleet of Linacs to Varian True Beams, two Philips Big Bore CT scanners. Orthovoltage and Brachytherapy service. We have Implemented Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT) and Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy.

The department is a reference site for 3 manufactures in the field of radiotherapy, often hosting visits to help other departments develop.

Our oncology management system is Mosaiq and our planning system Eclipse.

Poole also runs a satellite radiotherapy service in the neighbouring town of Dorchester where we operate one of our four Linacs.

Full time staff currently work their contracted hours over 4 days and are given a rolling day off each week. Shift patterns include on-call at Poole and rotations to our satellite department at Dorchester. We also cover an emergency on call service on weekends.

Applicants must be educated to DCR(T)/BSc Hons or equivalent and be registered with the Health Professions Council and have post qualification experience.

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.
