Summary


University Hospitals Dorset are looking for a Band 6 Deputy Team Lead Pre-Treatment Radiotherapy Radiographer based at Poole Hospital.

The post holder is expected to be able to work with very limited or no supervision clinically and to deputise for the Team Leader radiographer as appropriate in regard to the day to day management of the pre-treatment unit.

They are able to make clinical decisions relating to patient condition and accuracy of treatment or planning technique although may require some support and will be expected to obtain support from senior members of staff to make decisions which may be outside of their scope of clinical knowledge.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, technically skilled and caring Therapy Radiographer to join our well established Pre-Treatment team at the University Hospital Dorset situated at Poole Hospital.



The post holder is required to possess recent proven (within the past two years) post registration experience and competencies in Therapeutic Radiography CT scanning and Pre-Treatment . These skills, knowledge and confidence will enable you to fulfil an active role in the planning of highly accurate radiotherapy treatments whilst delivering the highest standards of patient care. This is a fast paced and varied role, working within CT, virtual simulation and mould room.



We have a Philips Big Bore CT scanner. Mosaiq is our patient management system. Eclipse for virtual simulation, registration and planning. Our scanner is equipped with Gate CT-Vision RT for 4D scanning. There is a dedicated mould room run by the pre-treatment team, manufacturing patient specific patient immobilisation, electron end-frames, custom bolus and superficial lead cut-outs.



The department has a fleet 4 Varian True Beam Linacs. We have successfully implemented Surface Guided Radiotherapy, Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy and tattoo less planning for all our patients.
