Summary
Act as a first contact clinician for patients with foot and ankle conditions, seeing patients without prior GP assessment. utilise and provide guidance to patients on equipment such as surgical instruments, dressings, treatment tables and orthotics prescribe, produce, and fit orthotics and other aids and appliances provide specialist treatment and support for high-risk patient groups such as older people and those with increased risk of amputation develop, implement and evaluate a seamless podiatry support service across the PCN, working with community and secondary care where appropriate, and aimed at continuously improving standards of patient care and wider multi-disciplinary team working Undertake comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of musculoskeletal and podiatric conditions. deliver foot health education to patients, e.g. implement all aspects of effective clinical governance for their own practice, including undertaking regular audit and evaluation, supervision, and training Provide evidence-based treatment plans, self-management advice, and onward referral where clinically appropriate. Maintain accurate, timely clinical records on the practice clinical system.
