Summary


The post holder will join the thriving and specialist Clinical Neuropsychology Department at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which provides neuropsychology services across the neurorehabilitation pathway from acute, through inpatient to community services.

This is a unique opportunity to join the neuropsychology team on our 7-bedded Level 2b Homerton Transitional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (HTNRU). The post holder will work as a fully integrated member of the multidisciplinary team and benefit from close working and specialist supervision from the Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and Head of Neuropsychology. The unit has a holistic, community ethos and a strong focus on supporting adults with neurological conditions to reintegrate the community through person-centred goal setting and interdisciplinary working.

You will be part of our well established, consultant-led neuropsychology service. Homerton Neuropsychology has a strong holistic ethos and many of the services we work into have adopted a biopsychosocial formulation led approach. The Trust is keen to develop and nurture high calibre neuropsychologists and you will be able to access specialist neuro CPD as well as service development, research and leadership opportunities.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates from minority ethnic backgrounds to improve our representation of the communities that we serve.
• Provide a specialist neuropsychology service for patients on HTNRU including assessment, intervention, risk management and referral on to other mental health services as appropriate to need.
• Provide highly specialist psychological supervision for junior psychology staff working in neuro-rehabilitation services.
• Provide specialist psychological training, supervision, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to the formulation and treatment of individual patients.
• Develop effective links and referral pathways with primary and secondary care teams providing care for patients, including arrangements for communication and joint working.
• Maintain electronic systems for referrals, appointments, activity and outcome monitoring for performance management, including continuous audit and evaluation of service.
• Develop the provision of psychological services within the multi-disciplinary teams where based, including maintaining good working relationships with other clinical staff.
• Support the Consultant Neuropsychologists to lead on local and Trust-level training and policy writing with respect to Mental Capacity Act, Best Interest Meetings, and Deprivation of Liberty in the acute and community settings.
