Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Creative Technology Technician to join a supportive secondary school in Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and a passion for supporting creative and practical learning within a school environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Creative Technology subjects, including Design & Technology, by ensuring equipment, materials, and resources are well prepared, maintained, and safely managed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to teaching staff within Creative Technology / Design & Technology departments

  • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons

  • Maintain, organise, and safely store tools, machinery, and resources

  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times, including risk assessments

  • Assist with routine maintenance and basic repairs of equipment

  • Support students during practical activities when required

  • Manage stock levels and place orders for materials and supplies

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a technician, ideally within a school or workshop environment

  • Knowledge of Design & Technology equipment, tools, and materials

  • A strong understanding of health and safety procedures

  • Good organisational and time-management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a secondary school setting

  • Relevant qualifications or training in Design & Technology or a related field
