Summary
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Creative Technology Technician to join a supportive secondary school in Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and a passion for supporting creative and practical learning within a school environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Creative Technology subjects, including Design & Technology, by ensuring equipment, materials, and resources are well prepared, maintained, and safely managed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the faculty team in maintaining a well-organised, safe, and welcoming learning environment.
* Contribute to the development of risk assessments and work closely with leaders to ensure health and safety risks are effectively controlled.
* Complete day-to-day administrative duties as needed to support the smooth running of the department.
* Oversee the management of resources, including ordering, issuing, and distributing stock as required.
* Carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs to equipment and materials.
* Work under the guidance of the Faculty Leader and/or Subject Leader to deliver effective technical support that enhances high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and enrichment across the faculty.
* Prepare, organise, and set up materials, equipment, and resources in advance of lessons.
* Provide in-class support to teachers and students where appropriate to support learning activities.
Requirements:
- Experience working as a technician, ideally within a school or workshop environment
- Knowledge of Design & Technology equipment, tools, and materials
- A strong understanding of health and safety procedures
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a secondary school setting
- Relevant qualifications or training in Design & Technology or a related field
