Summary

Course Leader and Lecturer of Access to HE Computing
0.4FTE Fixed Term until 31st August 2026
Salary: £13,688 - £16,349 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join the School of Higher Education. This role will include operating as the course leader and teaching on our Level 3 Access to HE Computing adult provision.

The Role:

Access to HE Computing Level 3 Diploma (validated by CAVA) provides adult learners with the key knowledge and skills needed to progress onto higher education study in computing. This course is a new addition to a well-established suite of Access to HE courses delivered at the college. The course includes delivery of units including study skills, programming, networks, cyber security and AI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide course leadership, by overseeing the day to running of the course
• Design and deliver teaching units on the Access to HE Computing course
• Work collaboratively with the Personal Development Coach and wider support teams to ensure that adult learners are well supported and prepared for their next steps or higher education study

Skills / Experience Required:

• A recognised teaching qualification
• Experience of teaching adult learners
• Industry experience in computing or related field
• Curriculum and unit development experience
• Knowledge of CAVA qualification would be desirable but not essential

You will be responsible for the teaching, development and planning of the curriculum area and implementing strategies for the delivery of an effective, high-quality curriculum.
