Support and Safeguarding Service - Empowering Families, Protecting Futures

At Wiltshire Council, we value and recognise all our staff for the hard work they do every day. Kickstart your social work journey with our Support and Safeguarding team, based in the west of the County, in Trowbridge.

This is an opportunity to join our supportive and friendly team as a Newly Qualified Social Worker, working within a great environment where you’ll be supported.

Our Social Workers are pivotal in supporting Wiltshire's vulnerable children, from pre-birth to age 18. We operate on a patch-based model, matching families with your expertise and chosen patch, encompassing areas like Trowbridge, Westbury, Melksham and Bradford on Avon, across the west of Wiltshire.

At our core, we believe in a 'one journey, one worker' approach, providing consistent support through dedicated relationships.

As a Newly Qualified Social Worker, you will work with a dedicated ASYE Development Manager and receive supervision twice a month, as well as informal support and ongoing guidance for practice. You will receive ongoing training and development which is designed by our designated ASYE Co-ordinator, and you will finish with an end of year group celebration.
