Summary
The Burns Service at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital is looking to recruit a permanent ward manager to lead our dedicated and highly skilled nursing team across the Burns Unit and The Burns and Plastics Aftercare Clinic (BPAC).
The Burns Service consists of a 12 bedded ward for inpatients, providing dressing support to our ventilated patients being housed in the general Paediatric Intensive care unit (PICU) and ambulatory care provided in BPAC. Our Burns Service manages over 1000 new patients every year, from birth up to 16 years of age that have sustained a thermal injury.
The successful applicant will be required to provide leadership to the nursing team with particular focus on patient safety, workforce management and quality improvement, working in conjunction with the matron and other members of the care division leadership team.
As ward manager you will hold 24 hour responsibility for the ward area.
You will be responsible for workforce recruitment and retention, leading the ward through the improving quality agenda, responsible for patient safety and patient experience and staff wellbeing.
