Summary


We are delighted to invite applications for a 12-month fixed term post in Emergency Medicine. The successful candidates will join The Royal London’s team of Emergency Medicine senior clinical fellows.

The post is for candidates with at least 2 year post graduate experience in emergency medicine looking for further experience in a well-supported teaching hospital and major trauma center environment.

Planned start date is February 2026 or as soon as possible after.

The successful candidate will join a friendly, highly motivated, consultant led team delivering high quality emergency care to East London.

The department receives a full range of emergencies from the local area in addition to major trauma from North East London and Essex with a total of 180,000 patients seen each year.

The post includes registrar (ST3+) level duties in the emergency department working on a full shift rota. Clinical duties are supported by 24/7 consultant presence, senior training registrars and a team of junior doctors and practitioners.

1Treat patients and colleagues with compassion and respect at all times

Deliver safe, and effective clinical care seeing patients within a personal case load seeking support, instruction, and advice from senior clinical team members where required.

Support delivery of the emergency department’s key performance standards through motivated adherence to key standards and by seeking support and advice from within the wider emergency care team when required.

Write clear, concise and contemporaneous patient focused medical records

Practice with honesty and integrity and in full compliance with the GMC standards for good clinical practice

Actively participate in and support the department’s clinical research activity

Actively participate in the department’s education and training program both in receiving and delivering education and training.

Actively participate in the departmental, hospital and trust wide clinical governance and patient safety activities.

Work with the Clinical Quality and Audit lead to ensure that quality in key areas (eg chest pain, sepsis and pain control) is quantified and acted upon
