Summary

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Alternative provision in Chesterfield who are looking to secure a Food technology teacher to start at Easter 2026.

This is a full time, temp to perm role.

The role will include a teaching timetable for KS3 and KS4. Applicants should have good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or other alternative setting. An passion for working with pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties is an essential quality for this challenging but rewarding role.

The AP deliver GCSE Food and ASDAN Foodwise currently and will be introducing further vocational catering options at their new site over the next academic year.

A full and clean UK drivers licence and access to a car, is required with business insurance.

The ideal Food technology teacher will have:

    • UK QTS preferred
    • The ability to follow the National Curriculum and provide creative lessons
    • Positive approach to teaching
    • The ability to build good relationships with the staff and pupils
    • Fantastic classroom management
