Responsibilities
Lead and manage the development management process to ensure timely and effective decision-making on planning applications.
Analyze and assess planning proposals, ensuring compliance with local and national policies and regulations.
Act as the primary point of contact for developers and stakeholders, providing guidance and support throughout the planning process.
Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for planning applications, ensuring clarity and precision in communication.
Mentor and supervise junior staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring high standards of work.
Coordinate with other departments and external agencies to facilitate integrated planning solutions and resolve complex issues.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency of the development management processes.
Requirements
A degree in urban planning, development management, or a related field.
Significant experience in development management, town planning, or a similar role within a governmental or private sector environment.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices related to land use and development.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex planning issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Proficiency in using electronic planning systems and relevant software to streamline processes and improve productivity.
