The Role
We have an excellent opportunity to join our team as either an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) for our children and young people in care or as a Child Protection Conference Facilitator for our children and young people subject to Child Protection Plans.
Within the role of IRO / CP Conference Facilitator you will be responsible for;
- Analysing, reviewing and supporting children and young people who are either subject to Care Plans or Child Protection Plans.
- To act as consultant for social workers, managers and other agencies on child protection matters and thresholds for conferencing.
- To facilitate the involvement of parents and children in making and reviewing child care plans and child protection plans ensuring that the “voice of the child” is reflected in the outcome of the process and explore opportunities to ensure that this is heard.
About You
We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated, pro-active, driven, and committed to improving the lives of children and young people.
You will be experienced and confident in working in a multi-agency environment, have excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence to work with children, young people and their families. Along with the skills to chair complex meetings in a relational manner.
Candidates for this role should have a minimum of 5 years post qualified in social work that includes in-depth knowledge and practice experience in child protection and children in care.
