Night Registered Veterinary Nurse – Part-Time | North London

Up to £37,000 FTE | Only 30 hour p/week | 24-Hour Veterinary Hospital | Emergency & Critical Care

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse seeking a night role that offers genuine clinical responsibility, variety, and the opportunity to make real decisions when it matters most?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a 24-hour veterinary hospital in North London, where night RVNs play a pivotal role in emergency care, overnight hospitalisation, and critical patient outcomes. You’ll work as part of a highly skilled overnight team, managing cases autonomously while being fully supported by senior clinicians and advanced facilities.

The Role

  • Part-time night position: 30 hours per week (annualised hours)

  • Full-time equivalent salary up to £37,000, dependent on experience (pro-rata applied)

  • Overnight shifts within a structured rota offering flexibility and extended time off

As a Night RVN, you will take ownership of:

    • Emergency triage and stabilisation

    • In-patient and post-operative care

    • Monitoring critical and medical cases overnight

    • Supporting emergency procedures and urgent interventions

    • Delivering high-quality nursing care with confidence and autonomy

      Why This Role Stands Out

      • Diverse emergency and ECC caseload, including surgical emergencies and intensive nursing cases

      • Annualised hours allow you to swap night blocks for longer periods of leave

      • Work alongside a dedicated overnight team (Veterinary Surgeon, RVN, Patient Care Assistant)

      • Strong clinical support from experienced senior vets with emergency and critical care expertise

      • Advanced hospital facilities, including CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, and emergency theatres

      • Involvement in nurse consultations, handovers, and clinical protocol development

        Benefits & Rewards

        • Competitive salary up to £37,000 FTE

        • RCVS and VDS fees paid

        • Employer pension contribution

        • Life assurance

        • Electric car salary sacrifice scheme

        • Enhanced equal family leave policies

        • Relocation support (subject to eligibility)

        • Extensive CPD opportunities, including funded external courses and certificate support

        • Clear career development within a skilled ECC-focused nursing team

          Wellbeing & Support

Your physical and mental wellbeing is a priority. You’ll have access to:

          • Trained Mental Health First Aiders

          • A confidential Employee Assistance Programme

          • A supportive, inclusive workplace culture that encourages learning and open communication

            The Environment

The caseload is fast-paced and varied, but collaboration and structured handovers ensure continuity of care between day and night teams. You’ll be part of a close-knit overnight unit, while also benefiting from a wider clinical community of experienced RVNs, PCAs, and certificate-holding veterinary surgeons.
