Summary
University Hospitals Dorset Foundation Trust is currently seeking to appoint a Trust Junior Clinical Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
We have one Trauma post (to include on calls) or 1 Orthogeriatric posts (to include ward cover).
Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Junior Clinical Fellow which is offered on a permanent position. The successful candidates must have full registration with the GMC, a recognised Medical degree and at least 1 year experience of house jobs in Trauma & Orthopaedics or Medicine/Medicine for the Elderly.
The applicant should be able to work flexibly and to act on own initiative and to support senior staff members.
In order to deliver this level of service applicants should have proven experience of on-calls and ward cover.

Trauma Junior Clinical Fellow
To cover the requirements of the on call rota and TOACU (Trauma & To Orthopaedic Ambulatory Care Unit). To assist in our main trauma theatres. To support fracture clinics.
To cover the Trauma Wards across both Poole and Bournemouth Hospital to include out of hours and weekends.
Orthogeriatric
To cover the requirement of the Orthogeriatric shift rota, across Bournemouth and Poole sites, covering the requirements of ward cover, covering four trauma wards at Poole Hospital, and the two inpatient elective wards at Bournemouth Hospital. The doctors work a 12-week rolling rota including day, evening and weekend shifts covering the wards

There is a planned move for this service anticipated during November 2025, when thisrole and base of work will relocate to Bournemouth. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the postholder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
