The Role
We’re looking for a qualified, experienced florist to join our established team on a permanent, part-time basis (24 hours per week).
This is a hands-on retail floristry role within a fast-paced shop environment.
Working days and hours will be agreed at interview, with some flexibility for the right candidate.
Weekend availability may be required as part of the role.
You’ll work closely with the business owners and fellow florists, creating bespoke floral designs to both customers and corporate clients, while delivering outstanding customer service both in person and over the phone.
Key Responsibilities
Creating bespoke bouquets, floral arrangements and plant gifts to a high professional standard
Producing funeral and wedding work
Serving customers in-store and handling telephone orders
Accurately recording customer requirements and order details
Till operation and basic sales handling
General shop housekeeping and maintaining clean workspaces
Working collaboratively as part of a close-knit team
What We’re Looking For
This role is suited to a florist who:
Holds NVQ / City & Guilds Level 2 in Floristry (or demonstrable equivalent professional qualification)
Has a minimum 2 years proven, hands-on experience in:
Retail floristry
Funeral work
Wedding designs
Is confident working under pressure during busy periods
Has excellent customer service and communication skills
Is friendly, approachable and professional at all times
Can work accurately, follow instructions and use initiative when required
Essential Skills & Attributes
Strong verbal and written English
Good numeracy skills
Excellent teamwork and communication
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Calm, organised approach under pressure
Reliable, punctual and presentable
Naturally creative with a strong eye for detail
A good sense of humour — and the ability to make a decent brew!!
Additional Requirements
Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods, including:
Valentine’s Day
Mother’s Day
Christmas
Overtime will be managed in line with Working Time Regulations
Willingness to support the business during high-demand periods
This Role Is NOT Suitable For

Flower arrangers, hobbyists or self-taught designers without commercial retail experience
Candidates whose background is general retail only (e.g. clothing, supermarkets, hospitality)
Garden centre, plant nursery or market stall roles that did not involve professional floristry work
Individuals seeking a training, entry-level or career-change role
Candidates unable to work under pressure in a high-volume retail floristry environment
Applicants unable to commit to overtime during peak periods

Permanent role, subject to a satisfactory 6-month probationary period
24 hours per week
