Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm
Are you a patient, resilient and passionate SEN professional looking to make a real difference in a primary setting? A welcoming primary school in Dudley is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team on a long-term basis.
You'll be working with pupils who have complex additional needs, including speech and language delay, sensory processing challenges and limited verbal communication. The school is looking for someone with the empathy, consistency and experience to build trust and support learning through tailored, nurturing approaches.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing tailored support to children with additional needs
- Use visual aids, PECS or Makaton to aid communication (experience preferred)
- Implement EHCP targets and work closely with the SENCo
- Help maintain a calm, structured and engaging environment
- Support learning across core subjects in partnership with the class teacher
- Use sensory strategies to support emotional regulation
What We're Looking For:
- A level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent within a related subject
- Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with complex SEND (e.g. ASD, speech & language needs, sensory processing)
- Knowledge of EHCPs and tailored intervention strategies
- Team player with strong communication skills
- PECS/Makaton knowledge is beneficial but not essential
