Summary

About the Role:
Are you ready to take your next step in property — whether you're a graduate with ambition or a seasoned professional looking for a new challenge?

We’re looking for a motivated and proactive Estates Surveyor to join our forward-thinking Estates team and play a key role in managing a diverse and high-profile property portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a supportive, professional environment while making a meaningful impact in your community.

Whether you're working toward RICS accreditation or bring hands-on experience in commercial property, we’ll support your development and give you the platform to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with day-to-day property management across the council’s estate, including retail, office, and operational assets.
• Support lease negotiations, rent reviews, and landlord/tenant relationships.
• Contribute to asset valuations, acquisitions, disposals, and income generation.
• Help maintain accurate property records and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Provide input into strategic estate planning, service improvement, and sustainability initiatives.

This is a full-time position on a permanent contract, working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday on-site, with some hybrid working.

About You:
We’re seeking someone with energy, initiative, and a genuine interest in property:
• A degree in property, surveying, or a related discipline — or equivalent experience in commercial property.
• Solid understanding of landlord and tenant law and property management principles.
• A self-starter with strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a professional team.
• Eager to learn, contribute, and grow — with support available for RICS qualification if desired.

This is more than just a job — it’s a chance to build a rewarding career, gain exposure to a wide range of property types, and help shape the future of public sector estates management.
