Summary

The successful applicant is expected to participate in on-calls on the Senior (Airway) Critical Care Rota. This will take up 50% of the time. The remainder of the time will be devoted to developing a specialist interest in the named areas. The Senior (Airway) Critical Care rota doctor will be in charge of the other trainees and fellows out of hours under the leadership and support of the Duty Critical Care Consultant on-call. Clinical duties will be conducted at both the Queens Medical Centre and at the Nottingham City Hospital. Where possible, the post will be tailored to individual training needs. The post is EWTD compliant. It would be advisable that the appointee register with the College of their parent specialty and it would be good practice to keep a logbook of their experience. The Clinical Fellows would be encouraged to undergo regular appraisal and to develop a learning plan and portfolio. Other Responsibilities 50% of the appointees time will be devoted to developing a specialist interest in Organ Donation. Prior to commencing the post, candidates who are pursuing an interest in organ donation or clinical research will be expected to have conceived of and planned a project in discussion with the appropriate supervisor. The expectation is that the project will be substantial and will be of sufficient quality for submission for publication or presentation at a national/ international meeting.
