Summary

Description

Join Maldon District Council as a Revenues & Benefits Assistant and make a real difference in maximising collection of millions of pounds of Council Tax, Business Rates and overpaid Housing Benefit. As well as ensuring those on a low income are receiving their correct entitlement of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support.

We’re looking for someone proactive, confident and passionate about providing excellent customer service. If you enjoy working as part of team as well as being self-motivated this role is for you.

About this role

As a Revenues and Benefits Assistant, you will play an integral role in the running of the Revenues and Benefits Service. You will be providing key administrative support including the handling and filing of both physical and digital mail.

You will also be updating relevant information systems to ensure that customer records remain accurate, up to date and in accordance with Data Protection Principles.

In addition, your duties will involve supporting the management with the day to day running of the service, understanding when to work independently and when to consult with colleagues.

This role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, outstanding time management skills and attention to detail.

You’ll be part of a dedicated team committed to making a difference to the residents of the district.

Previous experience is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be given.
