We are seeking a highly organised, confident and resilient individual to provide comprehensive support the Isle of Wight Coroners Service. This is a professional role within a high-pressure environment where accuracy, pace and sound judgement are essential. While the work is challenging, it is rewarding and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a vital public service.

The successful candidate will manage referrals from multiple agencies, maintain accurate case records, gather evidence to support identification, and liaise sensitively with next of kin and other interested parties. You will also assist in opening inquests, coordinating post-mortems, preparing case files, and supporting the administration of court proceedings. This role requires someone who can remain composed under pressure, work with meticulous attention to detail, and handle complex and sometimes distressing information with professionalism.

Candidates must clearly evidence in their application how they meet the essential criteria outlined in the Job Summary. Applications that do not demonstrate this will not be considered. Please note that previous applicants will not be shortlisted. If you believe you have the resilience, capability and commitment required for this demanding yet rewarding position, we welcome your application.
