The Role
We’re recruiting for a up to two Strategic Priorities Managers here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Digital & Data Enabling Services Team, part of the CDIO Group.
The Strategic Priorities Team supports the smooth and effective running of the Justice Digital function; it is an opportunity to work at the most senior levels of the function and influence the way in which the function operates, as well as to build a broader understanding of the MoJ as a whole.
This is a varied role that requires an awareness of, and interest in, both the strategy and ways of working of Justice Digital, the Service Delivery Transformation Group, and the Ministry more broadly. It has a wide remit that requires effective management and co-ordination, quick thinking, and the ability to facilitate and persuade. You will face tight deadlines for work and will need to manage your time effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
The Strategic Priorities Manager will deal with information requests and commissions from the Director General’s office as well as other internal and external sources. You will be responsible for prioritising incoming requests, collating the relevant information and drafting the response, all within a demanding timeline and from varied sources across Justice Digital. You will also be responsible for supporting the Strategic Priorities Lead on private office functions and organising SLT events. More specifically this means:
• Manage key relationships with MoJ and external stakeholders:
• Making sure the Strategic Priorities Lead and Head of Strategic Priorities know what executive boards and senior meetings are happening, supporting with the organisation and preparation for these events.
• Work closely with Business Managers and Chiefs of Staff to ensure that the Directors have access to the right information at the right time.
• Be credible across departments.
• Be responsive to change and manage time effectively.
• Be a proactive member in a team which ensures the SLT is focussed on the right things:
• Understand the roles and responsibilities of the SCS cadre in Justice Digital.
• Maintain a forward plan of corporate, delivery and operational activities to inform SLT agendas.
• Support in ensuring that all recurring SLT events are sent in good time and have the correct attendees.
• Support in the organisation of SLT events and on delivery of these with the team, leading on this where appropriate.
• Contribute to the building of agendas for SLT meetings to ensure they are discussing the right things at the right time, leading on this where appropriate
• Maintain the plan for, and record of, the right information for SLT sessions to enable data-led decision-making.
• Be a proactive member of the Strategic Priorities Team in information requests and commissions
• Build productive and collaborative relationships with the Director General’s Private Office.
• Maintain the process for responding to information requests and commissions, ensuring that all have been responded to in time, and have been cleared by the appropriate people.
• Prepare templates and introduce changes to improve the process for information handling.
• Collate the information for responding to the requests from varying sources across Justice Digital.
• Draft responses using the correct templates.
• Support the team in the demanding and fast-paced environment of information handling and commissions.
• Be proactive in continuously reflecting and adopting new innovative ways of working.
• Manage any conflict that arises.
• Manage a continual planning process in a complex and fast-paced environment.
• Respond to change effectively.
