Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Therapy Nurse (Band 7) to join our dynamic team delivering cutting-edge care to participants receiving Advanced Therapy Investigational Medicinal Products (ATIMPs), including gene and cell therapies across various specialties like oncology, rheumatology, haemophilia, nephrology and gastroenterology.
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation in research healthcare, supporting the delivery of novel, life‑changing treatments within a world-class research and clinical environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of these highly specialised therapies, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across clinical, research, and pharmacy departments.
You will be an experienced registered nurse with a strong background in acute or specialist care, ideally with experience in research, oncology/haematology, or cell/gene therapy. You will have the confidence to lead complex care delivery and an enthusiasm for working within a rapidly evolving field to develop the service.
We offer a supportive, innovative and forward-thinking multidisciplinary team environment with access to ongoing professional development and specialist training in advanced therapies. Joining our service means becoming part of a pioneering programme that is shaping the future of healthcare and improving the outcomes for research participants through research and innovation.
The post holder will act in a senior specialist role responsible for the safe and effective delivery of advanced therapies in clinical trials involving research participants, leading and coordinating a portfolio of advanced therapy clinical research studies, including Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (AT(i)MPs) and bispecific antibodies across a range of therapeutic areas within the Adult Clinical Research Facilities. These therapies involve complex care pathways requiring advanced planning, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and specialist nursing skills.
The post holder will manage and coordinate patients participating in these studies, ensuring their safety and adherence to protocols while collecting and maintaining accurate data. They will be responsible for ensuring the robust set-up, safe delivery of investigational therapies, continuous care of participants across inpatient and outpatient settings, and compliance with regulatory and governance frameworks.
The role demands a high level of clinical expertise, critical thinking and leadership in managing complex and novel interventions. The role will work collaboratively with MDT teams and research sponsors, providing expert advice, training, and clinical leadership across multiple departments, and supporting service development in line with evolving national and local strategies for AT(i)MP delivery.
This post has been created as a consequence of sustained activity in the field of research and external funding to support the development of the advanced therapy service within the Adult Clinical Research Facility. The Trust is one of London’s largest recruiting sites contributing to NIHR Clinical Research Network (NIHR-RDN) supported studies.
